BIOGRAPHY

JACOB WILD is a One Man Band "man orchestra". Retired for a few years "into the wild" in the depths of the Hérault department in a forest hut, it is there that he finds the inspiration to write and play what he will call the Wild Blues, a mix between
blues rock, garage and stoner rock. He plays on 2 guitar amps, 1 bass amp, full drums on the feet (bass drum, drum
claire, tom, hi-hat and cymbal). He released from his lair a second album entitled "TIME TO CHANGE" in the fall of 2021. an album with a concept story that links the 11 tracks of this album telling the transition to nature.

In concert it is a single man at 200% who makes as much sound as a group. He plays some blues rock classics
in its wild sauce until those most frantic compositions… Watch out for dislocated knees!

ZICAZIC (fred delforge)01/22: It was after a trip to the American West that the one who had previously been a punk and folk musician but also a studio engineer for about fifteen years turned into a bluesman of the most raw species, and one man band version please. Jacob Wild was born ten years ago now, and all this time, this UFO somewhere between R.L. Burnside, Mississippi John Hurt and Calvin Russell has been trying to tell us stories that resemble him, finding this time with this brand new opus the necessary soil to explain in detail his molt, this irresistible phenomenon that led him to become the atypical bluesman that he is now. «Time To Change» is the story of an inner revolution, the one that pushed yesterday’s townsman to become the hermit he is now, that solitary soul entrenched in the hills of the Hérault, a sort of Mississippi Delta that belongs to him alone. In addition to the eleven tracks present on the album, Jacob Wild made the effort to tell this story in spoken words version, a bit like African griots or American storytellers, and if we enjoy the «Bad Deal Of Good Neighborhood», “A Last Go Downtown”, “Plastic Earth”, “The Drunk Blues”, “Saved By The Mountain” and other “Born A Second Time”, we enjoy thanks to the QR code a real story that the artist had the good taste to translate into French for those who do not perfectly master the language of Robert Johnson. At the end of the road, it is a very beautiful work that presents itself to us, an album both very personal and very open that shares an experience, a feeling, through some slices of blues, boogie and rock, all on a background of sharp guitars, harmonicas full of sincerity, sober but effective percussions and singing full of nuance and meaning. While waiting for a vinyl version for April, we warmly recommend its CD or digital. Good big roots sound as we like it!

LITZIC (2019) by Patrick:  With Wild wild wild, Jacob Wild puts everyone in agreement, rallies the disillusioned of the blues to his cause while satisfying the purists.  Jacob Wild is a one man band. He plays everything, all by himself. It already seems incredible on paper, it is all the more so when listening to Wild wild wild as its blues holds up badly. The Jacob wild sound immediately sets off sparks. the distortion of the guitars which has a grain similar to that of a cinder block, rough, abrasive, massive, evokes the garage sound, but remains perfectly defined. Each instrument is in its place. The bass and the drums (relatively minimalist because played by foot, let's not forget) set the pace, in a surge of boogie that instantly puts us in the bath.  Impossible to resist, the beat takes us to the guts, electrifies our nervous system and makes us want to slam in a delirious pit (which is not nothing when we know that it is blues, even wild). The voice fits wonderfully with the music. Perhaps we expected it more hoarse, gargled with bourbon, but it turns out to be relatively clear. Fortunately, the intention is truly blues-rock, with that bite that conveys a vibrant emotion, at the same time independent, respectful of tradition, but also carried towards the future and transmission. If listening to Wild wild wild puts us well, we must admit that on stage, the show must be a real shamanic trance boiled down to decibels. Nothing to displease us, quite the contrary. Because this music exudes a crazy authenticity, something purer than the nationality of Jacob Wild, a little Frenchie from our region, suggests. Proof that the blues is neither a question of skin color, nor of nationality. In this bouquet of 12 cohesive pieces cast in concrete, we really like Lost in love, with its nonchalant, but incendiary rhythm that plunges us directly into the heart of the blaze of contrasting emotions. But above all, it is these choirs evoking some Sioux or Apache tribes with this powwow aspect, which gives us goosebumps directly. The guitar, here, does wonders of slide, the voice becomes priestess incantatory to various gods known only to her, the drums adding to the tribal side of the thing by its sobriety. What is more, when we know that Jacob Wild lives in a forest in the south of France, in total energy autonomy, we say to ourselves that we are dealing with a real rebellious soul, which perpetuates a universal tradition, of the one that makes it so… wild.

BLUES & CO n87 - by Tonton Erick  The title is not overused, it is wild at will and it is saying little, even if sometimes a little sweetness comes to interrupt the deluge of punkistic garage rock blues that the Jacob guy pours in torrent. But be careful when I say sweetness, do not be mistaken and imagine the sweet or syrupy thing, that nay it remains burné well planted on the bases, sporty but correct. Leaving the band: Mike Hey No More, Jacob Wild has made himself the mystic in a cabin deep in the woods with his guitar and his inspiration for only company, there, quiet work and here that resurfaces with twelve powerful tunes and the firm desire to do battle in one man band. His voice, a guitar plugged into two amps (like Le Rev. KM Williams), to which he adds a bass amp to boost the power, a bass drum, a snare, a tom, a hi-hat and cymbals .... And off we go for a great moment filled with frenzied energy, spontaneity ... it hits, it boosts with sometimes a little interlude a tad melodious, before going back into the wild.

NAWAKULTURE-de ged:  JACOB WILD comes out of the depths of the forest with a first disc stirring at will! Installed in Bédarieux, the guitarist of the excellents  MIKE HEY NO MORE  from Montpellier quickly got into the sporting discipline of the one-man-band: the guy beats a drums, strums a guitar and sings at the same time a garage and primitive blues rock repertoire tinged with rockab ', psycho and of country. On Wild wild wild !, his debut album, twelve tracks are brought together to kick primitive rock fans , something that could be described as a mix of CRAMPS, Hasil Hadkins and a ZZ bootleg. TOP of the Seventies but certain titles like Passion & love or Wild & crazy for example, can surprise by nice melodies almost grungy or brutal passages frankly punk. The production really holds up and the cover photo is frankly neat, it almost deserves a vinyl version on its own.

CAFZIC_by yann:  Jacob Wild is a really interesting rock'n'roll and blues one man band. The album never turns in circles, does not repeat itself and it is very appreciable. To the bluesy serenity of certain pieces are added the frenzy and the clever of the others without forgetting the groove and the dancing side of a bunch of them. Personally I like the energy that emanates from all this, it exudes freshness, spontaneity with the right amount of filth and invading ancestors.
